We’re thrilled to announce that our Spring 2025 release of Bommer for Fusion is now live! This update includes a couple new features that our users have been requesting as well as many behind the scenes bug fixes.
For a detailed breakdown of new features and bug fixes, check out our version release notes here. Here, we want to give you a sneak peek at some of the exciting new features.
Custom mass and length units in the design space
Fusion recently added the ability to customize the mass units in your design and no sooner had this feature left Autodesk’s hands we had users clamoring for Bommer to read in their custom unit selections. As of this release, Bommer uses these mass units and the expanded list of distance to format dimensions and physical properties in your BOM. Go ahead and work in microns and slugs if you need to; we got you covered. Read more about changing design units in our handy guide!
Oriented bounding box properties
Bommer has had properties that display the dimensions of your part for a good while, but there was always a catch: you had to align your part bodies with the component axes for the most accurate results. As of this release, you can now our use new oriented dimension properties and get accurate results no matter how rotated your body is. Check out the new Oriented Longest Dimension, Oriented Middle Dimension, Oriented Shortest Dimension properties, or click the link to see the comprehensive list of all Bommer built-in properties.
